In September 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed four Field Research Assistants:
Laura Jane POOLE from Aberdeen (Scotland), Helen Sarah FINDLEY from Southampton (England), Alasdair HARRIS from Edinburgh (Scotland) and Camille MELLIN from Thiverval Grignon (France).

Manuel GORDILLO from Madrid, Spain joined us on the 25th of September for three weeks...

On Monday the 23rd of September, Laura's last day in South Africa, we went on an excursion along the scenic coastal route via Betty's Bay and Hangklip towards the Cape of Good Hope.

A very windy day with gusts well over gale force...

Breakfast in Simon's Town overlooking Boulders Beach...

Laura has to fly back a little early to attend a "Team building" workshop for her curriculum... but... but... she just had a whole month of team building experience!

It is weird to have a team member leave early... We will all miss Laura!

On the 25th of September, we welcomed Manuel GRODILLO from Spain.

Not many shark pictures these days... one main reason is of an administrative origine: the research permit had not been correctly issued, and we had to wait for a new one. Unfortunately the weather was also quite bad on some days... summer is not quite here yet...

On Friday the 27th, we celebrated Manuel's birthday at home with a famous chocolate cake from Camille... then we were invited by Morne Hardenberg and Michael Rutzen for a traditionnal "braai" (South African barbecue)...
