TJ BARANEK from Pewaukee (Wisconsin, USA), Alan DUNCAN (Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland), Chris MILNES (Grantham, Lincolnshire, England) and Rhiannon COLLINGBORN (Chippenham, Wilts, England)
Instead of walking up to the old lighthouse of Cape Point as we usually do, we decided to walk from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope along a very nice cliff path. This is a known place for Baboons, and they have become quite accustomed to people, sometimes too much, mugging people walking around with food (mostly due to the stupid tourists who feed them).
This was a very nice discovery... this walk was just wonderful and the sceneries amazing (plus there are fewer people taking this walk)! The beach looked so inviting... but make no mistake, the water around here is really cold!

Another late winter storm hit our coastline for a few days... and we were stranded on shore for four days. The weather cleared up but the sea remained rough.

On Sunday the 21st of September 2003, we drove to De Kelders to do some shore-based whale watching... and enjoying a drink and snack at a little restaurant on the cliffs.
On Monday the 22nd of September, the conditions were perfect, at least in the morning... Alan, Chris and Rhiannon were invited by Dyer Island Cruises for a Whale Watching trip, and they joined myself and TJ on Lamnidae at noon. Below this gallery we present some of the photographs taken by Alan during the Whale Watching excursion.

The wind started blowing stronger around noon, and the ocean got a bit choppy... Nevertheless, it was a great day and we observed 11 different White Sharks today! Two of these sharks were above four meters (13 feet) in length - Very impressive!
The photographs presented below were taken by Alan Duncan on Monday the 22nd of September 2003. They were very lucky to observe a Southern Right Whale swimming so close to the boat and later breach clear out of the water...
