White Shark Trust - Field Research Assistant - May 2005

The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Justin HUBBEL (Anaheim, California, USA), Ronald NEALY (Freeport, Florida, USA), Anna BATTESE (St-Fadden, Australia) and Adam PHILLIPS (Redditch, United Kingdom).

Our friend Chris MILNES (Grantham, Lincolnshire, England), one of our old assistants from 2003 and 2004, has also come back to visit and is also volunteering for the White Shark Trust as a guest.

Our friend Trey SNOW (Wilmington, North Carolina, USA) returned as a guest on the 6th of May to Gansbaai and the White Shark Trust following a month of travelling and diving in Mozambique and the eastern part of South Africa.

On Sunday the 15th of May 2005, it was time to say good-by to Ron, who had been with us since the 1st of April... Tracey drove Ron to Hermanus to catch a shuttle back to the airport, and later that afternoon pick-up Brandon Mitchell, our new assistant from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA.

	On Sunday the 15th of May, we were expecting another series of storms to hit the Cape... We launched Lamnidae hoping that the bad weather would only come later... The wind picked up from late morning, and the sea got quite rough, but we had great Sharks and Shark activity... We observed 15 different White Sharks today, and we always had Sharks around the boat!
