The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Justin HUBBEL (Anaheim, California, USA), Anna BATTESE (St-Fadden, Australia), Adam PHILLIPS (Redditch, United Kingdom) and Brandon MITCHELL (Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA).

Our friend Chris MILNES (Grantham, Lincolnshire, England), one of our old assistants from 2003 and 2004, has also come back to visit and is also volunteering for the White Shark Trust as a guest.

Our friend Trey SNOW (Wilmington, North Carolina, USA) returned as a guest on the 6th of May to Gansbaai and the White Shark Trust following a month of travelling and diving in Mozambique and the eastern part of South Africa.

And we continue with photographs taken on this amazing day of the 20th of May 2005... The Sharks alone would have made this day memorable, but after seven hours of working (some will call it playing) with the Sharks, we decided to conduct a shore transect along the Haibaai coastline on our way (detour really) back to Kleinbaai...
Who said Great White Sharks were strict carnivores?
On our drive along the coastline back to Kleinbaai on our shore transect, we were very surprised to observe two Southern Right Whales! These are the first two Southern Right Whales observed in the bay this year! We welcome this new Whale season, and we look forward to see more!!! What a lucky day!!!
But that was not all... a little further along our shore transect, we encountered a very unusually playful pod of 10-12 Humpback Dolphins!!! We played with the Dolphins for a long time, as they were surfing the bow of Lamnidae in good underwater visibility! That was fun and amazing! What a fantastic and amazing day!!!
