The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany), Graham HORTON (Milton Keynes, England), Greg WRIGHT (Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA) and On the Mario LEBRATO CAMBLOR (Sama Langreo, Asturias, Spain).

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV is living in Fishoek on the shores of False Bay where he is assisting Alison KOCK (South African Museum / Save Our Seas) with her research project at Seal Island for the next few months.

Chris MILNES (Grantham, Lincolnshire, England), one of our old assistants from 2003 and 2004, has also come back to visit and is also volunteering for the White Shark Trust as a friend and guest.

Our friend Trey SNOW (Wilmington, North Carolina, USA) returned as a guest on the 18th of July to Gansbaai and the White Shark Trust following a couple of months of travelling through Africa from Cape Town to Nairobi in Kenya.

On Friday the 5th of August, ou assistants were invited on Barracuda (Shark Diving Unlimited) for their morning trip and observed nine different White Sharks, and dived in the Shark cage. Upon their return, we launched Lamnidae to make the most of this beautiful day, one of only few this winter, and we observed a further seven White Sharks that afternoon.
On our way back to Kleinbaai harbour, we encountered a few Humpback Whales swimming fast offshore...
The morning of Saturday the 6th of August looked promising, but unfortunately another stormy afternoon awaited us and we had to return to shore early... We observed three different White Sharks today, and we welcomed Andy Brandy Casagrande IV (nobody get fooled by this 'fourth' please!) back to Gansbaai for a quick weekend visit...
Andy shared with us some of the photographs he has been shooting in False Bay working with Alison Kock... The National Geographic CritterCam team were attaching video cameras to the dorsal fin of White Sharks for the past month around Seal Island... Andy got some amazing breaching White Shark pictures!!!
