The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Anna BATTESE (St-Fadden, Australia), Brandon MITCHELL (Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA), Mike PERSSON (Red Deer County, AB, Canada) and Bryce ROHRER (Greenwich, CT, USA).

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV is living in Fishoek on the shores of False Bay where he is assisting Alison KOCK (South African Museum / Save Our Seas) with her research project at Seal Island for the next few months.

Chris MILNES (Grantham, Lincolnshire, England), one of our old assistants from 2003 and 2004, has also come back to visit and is also volunteering for the White Shark Trust as a friend and guest.

On Saturday the 25th of June, we were invited to join the Shark Diving Unlimited crew on board Barracuda. We observed 11 different Sharks today, and it was a nice Shark day! A cold front is approaching the Cape today, maybe the Sharks could feel this and cheered us up before being stuck on shore for a couple of days.
On Tuesday the 28th of June, we launched Lamnidae in the early afternoon... Beautiful, but cold, day at sea! We observed five White Sharks today, but all but one stayed deep and shy... A Southern Right Whale swam past our boat! We were lucky with Humpack Whales last week and now one of the few Southern Right Whales that have arrived in South Africa...
