The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Edward FARRELL (Dublin, Ireland), Clova JURK (Perth, Scotland), Sarah BAHAN (Idaho, USA), and Barney DUNLOP (Bath, England)

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant since the 15th of July 2005. He assisted with the manual telemetry tracking of White Sharks in Mossel Bay during the month of August.

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since September 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

With Sarah in Cape Town celebrating a friend's birthday, Timo in Cape Town spending his last few days with his parents, and Andy and Clova in Mossel Bay assisting with the research project, the team was seriously diminished... But Ed and Barry did a great job today, and the Sharks fortunately did not all visit at the same time...
On Saturday the 3rd of December 2005, the sea was finally calmer, and we launched Lamnidae in the early hours of the morning... Even though the wind was blowing near gale force strength by mid-morning and the sea got a bit choppy, we thoroughly enjoyed our day on Lamnidae... Certainly the best day in a few weeks!

Not a cloud in the sky... Beautiful day! Unfortunately, the water was very murky and the underwater visibility was innexistant. But quite rough ocean in the afternoon...

We observed eleven different White Sharks today! The Shark who stole my chum bags from the side of Lamnidae last week... She is a cool Shark and she remained with us for over two hours!
