The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Edward FARRELL (Dublin, Ireland), Clova JURK (Perth, Scotland), Sarah BAHAN (Idaho, USA), and Barney DUNLOP (Bath, England)

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant since the 15th of July 2005. He assisted with the manual telemetry tracking of White Sharks in Mossel Bay during the month of August.

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since September 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

On Monday 28th of November, Andy and Clova went to Cape Town, to then go to Mossel Bay to assist Ryan Johnson with his research project on White Sharks in the bay... They returned to Gansbaai on Sunday the 4th of December in the evening. White Sharks also come very close to the beaches along Mossel Bay's shoreline...
Monday the 5th of December could not have turned out worse... the winter northwesterly wind started blowing and the ocean turned nasty... We observed seven or eight different White Sharks in less than two hours, but they did not spend time around the rocking boat... Bad day, made worse by yesterday's wonderful day... We welcomed Andy and Clova back on Lamnidae...
