The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant since the 15th of July 2005. He assisted with the manual telemetry tracking of White Sharks in Mossel Bay during the month of August.

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

On the 1st of November 2005, we welcomed our new assistants:

Edward FARRELL from Dublin, Ireland

Clova JURK from Perth, Scotland

On Tuesday the 1st of November 2005, Michael, Dave, Andy and Timo drove to Cape Town... Dave was going home... and we were all very sad to see him leave! But we know that it really is a see-you-soon-again type of goodby... Dave invited us for lunch at the African Cafe before leaving us at the airport. We picked up Ed from Cape Town...
Following a late winter storm and some heavy rains the past few days, we managed to launch Lamnidae on Friday the 4th of November... First day for our new assistants, Ed and Clova... Very nice day... We observed ten different White Sharks today. I missed the White Sharks during my trip to Europe.
On Saturday the 5th of November 2005, Timo, Ed and Clova went to sea in the afternoon on board Shark Fever (Marine Dynamics)... In the evening, we went to De Kelders to watch the Whales in the protected Walker's Bay, and admire the stunning sunset from this wonderful coastline... We observed many Southern Right Whales enjoying the sunset with us...
