The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Edward FARRELL (Dublin, Ireland), Clova JURK (Perth, Scotland), and Sarah BAHAN (Idaho, USA)

On the 16th of November 2005, we welcomed Barney DUNLOP from Bath, England

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant since the 15th of July 2005. He assisted with the manual telemetry tracking of White Sharks in Mossel Bay during the month of August.

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since September 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

On Wednesday the 16th of November 2005, we launched Lamnidae in the early morning before the spring low tide... and welcomed Barney who just arrived from Cape Town with a shuttle. We observed nine different White Sharks today! Beautiful day in the morning, and then the southeasterly wind started blowing in the afternoon.
The images below were taken by Andy with a Canon D20 digital SLR camera in an Ikelite housing...
In the evening, we had a braai on the beach with our neighbours and friends, Lance, Jean and Jane, and Jenna and Yvonne. Amazing and beautiful sunset over Walker Bay... Timo managed to behave himself... except maybe for his twenty minutes joke which seemed to captivate the ladies.
