The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Edward FARRELL (Dublin, Ireland), Clova JURK (Perth, Scotland), Sarah BAHAN (Idaho, USA), and Barney DUNLOP (Bath, England)

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant since the 15th of July 2005. He assisted with the manual telemetry tracking of White Sharks in Mossel Bay during the month of August.

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since September 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

Sunday the 20th of November 2005 welcomed us with an overcast but calm day... occasional blue sky patches... a light breeze was switching from warm to fresh during the day. Nice day at sea! Unfortunately, we only observed three different White Sharks today...

We welcomed Jenna Cains on board Lamnidae today. Jenna was one of our first assistants from February to June 2002, and she has never left Gansbaai ever since. It was fun to have her on Lamnidae (the 'Cork' as she names our research yacht). Jenna is also a very good friend of Clova (or C-Lover).

Timo left for Cape Town today to meet his parents on Monday morning. His parents are coming to visit him for a couple of weeks and discover South Africa (and the Sharks that Timo loves so much)!

Mother and calf Southern Right Whale swimming past Lamnidae...
In the evening, Jenna, Yvonne, Clova and Michael went out for supper at a new restaurant Magic Moments in Stanford... I would vote for the Best Pizza in South Africa... actually make it in Africa! First time, I found a pizza with Rocket on this continent...
