The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

David Anthony JONES (Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK) and Elsbeth Louise McSTAY (Newport-on-Tay, Fife, Scotland)

and Alexia CURMI (San Gwann, Malta) and Yara HALABI (London, England) on holidays...

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant from the 15th of July to the 15th of August, and will continue his assistantship with the White Shark Trust from September through January 2006. Timo left for Mossel Bay on the 15th of July to assist Ryan JOHNSON with his active telemetry tracking of White Sharks in the bay.

Monday the 12th of September 2005 was another beautiful day with a strong easterly wind... very warm day, and a real summer day... seems like spring is on its way! We observed 13 different White Sharks today on Lamnidae. Alexia and Yara decided not to join us on Lamnidae today. Great and fun day!!!
Tuesday the 13th of September was another beautiful day... warm day... summer day... and the whole team was on Lamnidae again! But unfortunately, we only observed four White Sharks very briefly... Boring day... as you can see from the silly pictures on the gallery today... Ellie's last day at sea!
We took a break on Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th of September, and the winter northwesterly wind was blowing. Late afternoon on Thursday, we went to De Kelders to look at the Whales... we observed well over a dozen Southern Right Whales lazing in Walker Bay. And the sunset was just amazing!
